Geography of the Project
Hadrian’s Wall has an established line, running through Tyne and Wear, Northumberland and Cumbria. Although much of the wall has gone, historical and archaeological evidence allows us to see where it was originally sited.
Over a period of 2000 years the urban and rural contexts have changed, and today Hadrian’s Wall and its original wall line connect a rich and diverse set of urban and rural landscapes from South Shields, Wallsend, across to Bowness on Solway and down to Ravenglass.
This section of images shows some of the diversity.
