Landworks is being set up by Charles Poulsen and Steve Chettle in partnership with Southern Uplands Partnership to establish a new strategic arts organisation that will be able to develop and deliver arts programme for the whole 212 miles of the Southern Upland Way. The core of the project will be concentrated on commissioning artworks that use growth and growing materials.
We believe that this has not been attempted on any scale in the UK or internationally and as such is a unique opportunity to create a high profile arts project that links locally whilst having a national and international profile.
Landworks will implement its programme through partnership, working with the many agencies from the arts, heritage, land management and tourism sectors that are identified with, or have a core stake in SUW.
Landworks has started consultations about the project and the responses have been positive and enthusiastic.
